Historic Day for the ACT: Voluntary Assisted Dying Legislation Passed
Wednesday this week marked a significant and emotional milestone for the ACT with the passing of the Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) legislation. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all Canberrans who bravely shared their personal stories and experiences. Your voices have been pivotal in shaping a new law that will benefit so many in our community.
We’ve been heavily involved in advocating for carer considerations within this legislation. Through our formal submission and participation in public hearings, we ensured that the voices and needs of carers were heard and addressed. As the VAD legislation comes into effect, we remain committed to continuing our advocacy and support for carers.

Together, we are making history and shaping a compassionate future for all.
