Summar is a carer for her brother, who lives with mental health conditions and intellectual disabilities.

Summar received a Shaw Scholarship to support her to finish her Diploma at the Australasian Beauty Therapy Academy. She is a talented make-up artist, however was facing financial barriers to finishing her diploma due to the costs of purchasing her own equipment. Summar was also supported to purchase an outfit and tickets for her graduation ceremony, which was a proud moment of achievement for herself and her family. Summar is undertaking a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management at CIT Yuarana this year, and hopes to open her own makeup artistry business.
