We are always on the look out for people willing to donate some time and some kindness to help us deliver services and supports to vulnerable members of our community.
Who makes a good volunteer?
Our volunteers need no specific qualifications except the desire to offer support, understanding and patience to the people we support in our community.
We would love to hear from anybody who is interested in lending their support and particularly encourage men of all ages and people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
All volunteers will be required to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People registration and a police name check. We can assist you with obtaining these.
Community Visitor | Community Visitors are matched with an older person who is socially isolated and living independently in their own home. As a regular visitor, you will help them stay connected through meaningful companionship, conversation and shared interest.
Activities Assistant | Activity Assistants provide practical support to Carers ACT staff responsible for running group activities, workshops, social programs and respite retreats.
