Moira Murphy |  Counsellor and Art Therapist, Carer Support Services

Moira is experienced in working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.  She adopts a holistic, person-centred approach in her counselling practice and adapts other counselling modalities to achieve the best outcomes for her clients.

Moira is registered with the Australian Counselling Association and her qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts Health Sciences & Social Services with Specialisation in Community and Health Psychology, a Diploma in Counselling with Advanced Study Majors in Grief & Loss Counselling, Addictions Counselling and Relationship & Conflict Resolution Counselling as well as a Diploma in Art Therapy and Certificate IV in Aged Care.

Moira facilitates the Mental Health Northside Support Group, Art Therapy Groups as well as Psychoeducation sessions for carers.


Sue Mitchell | Counsellor, Carer Support Services

Sue is an experienced counsellor who enjoys working with clients from a variety of backgrounds to support their health and well-being.

Sue has worked as a counsellor in the health and education sectors with clients experiencing acute or chronic stress, grief, loss and adjustment concerns arising from changes in health or life circumstances.

Sue adopts a strength based, person-centred approach in her counselling practice and draws upon a variety of evidence-based counselling therapies (such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy) to assist clients to achieve their counselling goals.

Sue is an accredited Social Worker registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers and her qualifications include a Master of Social Work, a Graduate Certificate in Career Education and Development and a Bachelor of Social Science. Sue is also a qualified life and career coach and has experience working with groups and in delivering training.


 

Carers ACT can also arrange referrals to independent counsellors where necessary. This allows Carers ACT to offer a broad range of counselling services with different areas of expertise.
