Media Release – Buy a ‘Cuppa’ for a Carer This December

Carers ACT and Two Before Ten partner to support unpaid carers in the ACT

04/12/2024: This December, Carers ACT has partnered with Two Before Ten cafes to launch their Cuppa for a Carer campaign, giving Canberrans a unique and easy way to support unpaid carers. The campaign invites people to donate the cost of a cup of coffee, either in-store at participating Two Before Ten cafes or online, to help provide services and support for carers in the Canberra community.

“At some point in our lives, every one of us will either care for someone or be cared for,” Lisa Kelly, CEO of Carers ACT said. “Caring is rewarding but can also be isolating and overwhelming. A small gesture, like buying a ‘cuppa’ for a carer, can go a long way in ensuring they feel recognised, supported and valued.”

Funds raised through the campaign will contribute to services such as respite breaks, and wellbeing programs for carers. Donations can be made at any Two Before Ten cafe or online at www.carersact.org.au/cuppaforacarer24.  The campaign makes it easy for anyone to make a meaningful difference.

“As a local business, we’re proud to be able to support carers who play such a critical role in our community. By helping the people of Canberra donate the price of a coffee, we can help provide support, like a much-needed break, for those who give so much of themselves to others,” Matt To’omua from Two Before Ten said.

Carers ACT thanked Chris Dennis and Matt To’omua from Two Before Ten for their help in bringing the campaign to life.

“This is the start of a long partnership with an organisation that shares our values and our commitment to the people of Canberra. We now invite everyone to spread the word, make a donation, and help ensure carers feel supported this holiday season,” Lisa Kelly said.
