An Important First Step is to Register with My Aged Care
To access these services, the person you care for must be registered with My Aged Care and have an eligibility assessment. Call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422
When you register with My Aged Care, you need to ask for a referral code to access Carers ACT’s services. If you’re not assessed as eligible, or are waiting for services, you can still access these services on a fee for service basis.
Not registered with My Aged Care yet but Needing help?
If the person you care for has not contacted My Aged Care, or is currently wait-listed, you may be able to access short-term services to support you, the carer through the Carer Gateway.
Carers ACT is the local service delivery provider of Carer Gateway services in the ACT.

Carer Gateway is the first port of call for carers looking for information and services. Funded by the Australian Government, the Carer Gateway provides on-line resources and phone service for carers to access practical information and support.
