Have your Say – Your invitation to join the Carer Collective!

Would you like to share your experience, speak up for carers and make a difference?  But are you worried about the time commitment to be involved in panels and committees?  The Carer Collective could be for you.

Our new flexible Carer Collective aims to make it easier for carers to speak up on topics that matter when it suits them. The Carer Collective will be a monthly event, held in different locations across Canberra. Register for individual events without requirement to commit to the following months. Come as it suits, or as topics are of interest.

Come along to our first Carers Collective! A chance to bring your caring experiences, ideas, and opinions on a range of topics.   Coffee and cake are supplied to keep the ideas flowing!

Our first facilitated discussion held in June will focus on:

  1. Education- What are your experiences of the enrolment system for children with disability. (Presented by Carers ACT
  2. Youth At Risk of developing mental ill health. A project from the Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Division at ACT Health Directorate. The Government is forming their thoughts on trauma-informed practice for children and young people. Please join us for a discussion around this topic
  3.  Mental Health Commissioning- ACT Health will be joining us to find out how the mental health service commissioning process can be tailored to better meet the needs of carers. This feedback will be used to ensure that community mental health services in the ACT are accessible and effective for all.

When: Friday 16 June 2023 9.30am to 11.30am (Register by 12 June 2023)

Where: Carers ACT building- 80 Beaurepaire crescent Holt ACT 2615
