Do you have someone in your life who is ageing?

This opportunity has now closed.  Thank you to all carers who participated

Book a limited place to speak with the Commonwealth Department of Health

If you have someone in your life who is ageing and needing support,  you will know that the current aged care system can be confusing and complex. The impact this has on carers is widely recognised, including through the findings of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

The Commonwealth Department of Health is currently designing a new system and is very keen to have input from carers about their thoughts, experiences and wishes for a better system that not only looks after people who are aged, but carers too.

Carers ACT invite you to attend one of two upcoming consultation sessions and give your feedback directly to the policy makers at the Department of Health. Place in these direct consultations are limited.

Session 1: Online lunchtime consultation

Ideal for working carers who are caring for a parent or older relative

Tuesday 13 December, 2022, 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm

Session 2: In-person consultation

Ideal for those caring for a partner
Hosted by Carers ACT, 2/80 Beaurepaire Crescent, Holt, ACT

Monday 19 December 2022, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

More information

There is currently a discussion paper out that is about topics such as self-managing services, what clinical oversight and practical assistance might be required, how the funding would work and making sure the system is flexible and innovative. As carers are often the ones organising assessments and services, dealing with My Aged Care and other tasks, we think it is important that carers have a say in how the system will look.

Places are limited, so register below to reserve a place and receive a copy of the reform discussion paper.
