Computers are continually evolving technical tools. So where do you start? How do you keep up-to-date?
You may find them overwhelming and confusing not knowing what to do, which button to press or whether you can trust the outcome. But they don’t have to be.
Build your confidence and ask questions in our six week beginners computer course. The course is designed to translate IT lingo into practical skills that will assist you understand the basics on how to use your computer.
Presented by Trevor Drover, this course will lead you through beginner principles using everyday scenarios as learning tools.
By the end of the course you will know:
- The essentials to internet safety
- How to complete and a search and navigate webpages
- How to fully utilise your email accounts, save attachments and sort through your email folders
- Transferring files from different electronic devices and uploading digital files
- And how to use social media to connect with family and friends
Cost: $20 per carer for the full 6 weeks.
You are welcome to bring your own computer or alternatively, we have select number of windows laptops available for use during the session. Please advise us on registration if you require the use of laptop. Carers who have previously completed the course will be placed on the wait list in the event a position becomes available.
This course will is for six continuous weeks, from Tuesday 5 March to Tuesday 9 April. Full cost of the course is payable before attendance through the online registration. Payment options include debit and credit cards. Should a carer be unable to a afford this or pay online please contact the Events and Programs Team on 6296 9982.
As this course is at a cost to Carers ACT, there will be no refunds should a carer miss a session no will there be additional make up sessions.
