Are you looking for tips and tools to help enhance your self-care in your everyday?
Have you tried some but need new ideas or have some to share with other carers?
Come along to this workshop presented by a carer with lived experience. In this workshop you will make your own ‘Coping Tool Box’, and discuss ways in which you can take better care of yourself.
“As a carer, I was always being told it was very important to look after myself and self-care. I got sick of people saying that, it frustrated me. Did they not understand how time poor I was? How tiring it was in my caring role? It was alright for them to say look after yourself, they had time and didn’t know what it was really like. Things just got worse for me, my caring role had taken over my life, my husband wasn’t getting any better, I lived in constant fear I would lose him to his illness. I realised if I kept doing the same thing nothing would change. So, I decided to change and for the first time I gave self-care a priority. I worked on me, and soon learnt all those people had been right, things did change, they got better, it was the key for me in finding the calm within the storm.”
