Nia Workshop

February 16 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am AEDT

We have all heard it – we know we should be aiming to at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day and that this can take different forms and be across different places, for example, at home, at school, in the community, organised or non-organised activities. And the reason why is that research states the many benefits of physical activity. This includes participation and increasing your social network, improved physical and emotional well-being such as reducing stress and anxiety, improving concentration, relaxation and self-confidence, increased energy and the list goes on and on. (Source, Australian Government Department of Health)

To get you moving in 2019, Carers ACT would like to invite carers to explore different types of physical activity by participating in a range of different activities and programs. We already have weekly yoga and t’ai chi classes however these may not be your cuppa tea. It’s all about trying to find something that you enjoy doing…

Carers are invited to come along and find out about Nia Australia* – a fun, dynamic practise suitable for all ages, genders and fitness levels. Beginners welcome.

Imagine for a minute…What if exercise for the mind, body and spirit could be effortless and fun? What if you could enjoy a workout that offers the expression of dance, the flexibility of yoga, the mindfulness of meditation, the strength and power of martial arts, the ability to release stress, have a laugh, all set to amazing music…. this is what a Nia class has to offer!

Join Carers ACT with a qualified Nia instructor for this two-hour workshop, including discussion and practise. Meet some other carers and explore the benefits of movement for you and your mind, body and spirit. Nia has regular classes throughout the ACT.

Registration to attend is essential through the link below. If you are unable to attend on the day, please email or call 6296 9982.

This workshop will proceed subject to minimum numbers being reached.

Cost – $10 per carer.
