What parents need to know about depression, suicide, eating disorders, deliberate self-harm and other mental health problems in young people.
This forum is an opportunity for parents, carers and friends to come together with one of Australia’s leading experts’ in child and adolescent mental health, and to better understand the difficult and often confronting topic of young people and mental health.
Speaker: Dr Michael Carr-Gregg
Dr Michael Carr-Gregg is one of Australia’s highest profile adolescent and child psychologists. He currently works in private practice as well as consulting to Inowell, a joint project between PWC, the University of Sydney and the Federal Government.
He wrote his PhD at University of NSW on Adolescents with Cancer and named and founded Can Teen more than 30 years ago with a group of young cancer patients.
He has worked as an academic, researcher, and political lobbyist. He is also the author of 12 books and is an Ambassador for Smiling Minds, Big Brother Big Sister, and sits on the Board of the family Peace Foundation and the National Centre Against Bullying.
