Carers of people with dementia are invited to participate in our Dementia Education Series.
Carers eligible to register for the topics in the Series must be a carer of a person with dementia as per the government funding program.
Topic 4 – Exploring pain in dementia
Understanding pain for a person living with dementia is often difficult to understand, assess and manage.
Come along to this three hour workshop to explore the issues of pain for someone living with dementia. Reflect on your current understandings and build on your techniques and practices to help you support your loved one or friend with dementia.
The session will assist you to understand:
- Different causes of pain
- The tools available to you to identify pain in someone with dementia
- How to best manage the pain in people with dementia
- If there is the presence of one or more additional illnesses contributing to the pain.
Cost – $20 per carer to be paid when registering
