Caring for an ageing relative or person and need assistance to navigate the ‘aged care’ maze?
Want to find our about information all on the same day in the one location?
Then join Carers ACT for a special weekend edition of our Aged Series, for free. Stay for the whole day or pop in for what is relevant to you! And don’t forget to bring a note book and pen!
Carers ACT understands that not all carers and their families can make our educational sessions on important topics such as these. Hence why we are making these available on the weekend for carers who may work or have other commitments. There is a limit of two tickets per carer – bring a family member, the person you care for or a friend.
The day will include various presentations of approximately 45 minutes on:
- How Carers ACT can support you
- ACT Aged Care Assessments
- Centrelink payments and aged and home care fees and charges
- Financial Counselling
- Home Care Packages
- Accessing aged care facilities
There will be an opportunity to meet our qualified presenters and ask questions.
The following organisations will be in attendance: Carers ACT; ACT Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT), ACT Health; ACT Regional Assessment Service (RAS) Assessor; Centrelink, Department of Human Services; Care Financial Counselling Service; Community Services #1*; and Third Age Matters*.
Registration to attend is essential through the Eventbrite link below. There is no need to print and bring the ticket on the day, however, carers are asked to register their name on arrival on Carers ACT attendance sheet. If you are unable to attend on the day please notify us as soon as possible via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or 6296 9982 so that we can allocate your place to another carer.
Please note free car parking is available on site. Some light refreshments will be provided for carers in the formal break and a cafe is available for carers to purchase more substantial refreshments.
*Carers ACT does not endorse these services.
