Our Cottage is set amongst safe and secure gardens in the leafy suburb of Deakin. The nurturing environment created by our dedicated staff is immediately apparent from the passionate love of caring and genuine concern for our guests to the freshly made meals prepared with home-grown ingredients. We provide highly individualised care with four bedrooms available for overnight or short stays. We also operate a popular day program for seniors.
Our key goal is to assist our guests with everyday living skills, socialisation and memory retention. We also individually tailor hobbies to reflect our guests’ life interests. Regular activities include:
Our staff are the key to the success of the Cottage. They are all experienced and qualified in providing individualised care plans and value the rights of our guests to respect and dignity. They believe all guests should feel at home and they work hard to create a welcoming and stimulating family environment.
Each guest is individually assessed by one of our experienced care coordinators. This ensures we fully understand the guest’s routine, personal care, mediation needs, dietary requirements, hobbies, interests and cultural background. We strongly focus on ongoing communication to ensure that each guest feels safe and secure and that you feel assured we are properly meeting all their needs, including special cultural needs.

The Deakin Cottage is a low care needs service. It is open to all ACT and NSW seniors and/or people with dementia depending on individual care needs. You will need to be registered with Carers ACT to access the service, find out how at Register as a Carer.
There is a fee to stay at Deakin Cottage. However, guests may be eligible for the costs of the service to be subsidised.
