Carers need to be recognised and heard in the ACT and beyond!
The 2024 National Carer Survey released today paints a clear picture. Australia’s carers are doing it tough, and the ACT is no exception.
The National Carer Survey gathered the voices of over 10,000 carers from across the country. It shows that more than half are experiencing financial stress, and a third don’t always have enough food. It also found that fewer than half of our nation’s carers feel valued by the service providers they interact with.
We want to change that. At Carers ACT, our sole focus is you. We exist to make sure carers are seen, heard, recognised and supported. We advocate for you, listen to your voices, and push for changes that improve your everyday life. If you need help, we are here for you.
We know things are hard. But we also know that when carers come together and speak out, change is possible. That’s why we’re also encouraging you to read the 2024 National Carer Survey report, share it with others, and know you’re not alone. You’re part of a strong and growing community of carers, and we’re here to back you every step of the way.
