Carers across the ACT know what it means to keep going, regardless, when caring for those you love. This federal election is your chance to help get a better deal for you and your fellow carers.

Carers Australia is running their Carers Can’t Quit campaign to help make sure carers are recognised, supported, and included in policy decisions. The campaign is calling for five key commitments from all candidates:

1. A 15% increase to the Carer Allowance and a $300 boost to the Carer Supplement.
2. Economic modelling for superannuation contributions for carers.
3. An expanded Young Carer Bursary — increased to $4,500 and doubled in number.
4. More carer-inclusive workplaces.
5. Training for health professionals to identify and support carers early.

What you can do:

• Share a campaign post on your social media to raise awareness.
• Write to your local candidates and ask them to support the five asks.
